If you smell gas or suspect a leak:

  • Leave the house immediately.
  • Don't use your phone; call JCE Co-op's emergency number at 800-858-5522 (or your gas supplier) or 911 for assistance from a neighbor's house.

Do not operate:

  • Light switches
  • Doorbells
  • Phones
  • Electrical appliances

Do not light a match.

What is included in the installation?
Our professional installation includes mounting the CPE, running a small cable to your router or PC, and insuring you have Internet service at the appropriate service level.

Do you provide the router?
JCE Co-op does provide a managed router service but a router is not included as part of the install or Internet service.

Is there a fee for the installation?
Yes, there is a one time installation fee. This fee covers the cost of labor for the install and the incidental installation supplies.

Do I have to be home for the installation?
Yes, we do require you to be present at the time of installation. Our Installers will need to review with you some of the details regarding house entry and cable placement.

How long does the install take?
We recommend making 3 hours available for the installation. We will work with you to schedule the installation at a time that is convenient.

Do you attach anything to my home?
Yes, We will have to attach a small device (CPE) to the exterior of your house. Where we attach this device depend upon the service you are requesting. Our Installers will work with you to help facilitate the optimal location.

Will the installer connect my wireless devices?
Yes, our Installers are dedicated to helping provide the best member experience possible.
 

Fiber Internet

What is fiber internet?
Fiber Internet is the next level of digital communication. It provides better reliability, lower latency and greater throughput than any of the technologies before it. Fiber is the technology that will take us into the next decade and beyond.

When will fiber be available in my area?
We are working delightedly on plans of where we should build next. Help us choose where we go next by requesting a site survey and show us your interested.

What is an “ONT”, where is it mounted and what does it look like?
The Optical Network Terminal (ONT) is the device the converts the light transmitted over the fiber into the electrical signals your computers use to communicate. The ONT is installed on the exterior of your premise adjacent to your electric meter. It is a simple 12 inch by 12 inch grey box with a couple cables entering the ports on the bottom. 

What is TrueSpeed?
Our professional installation includes mounting and aligning the connector to get the best signal, running a small cable to your router or PC, and insuring you have Internet service at the appropriate service level. We will connect to existing networks but do not set up home or business networks as part of the install.

What is the benefit of a managed router?
The managed router is a turnkey solution that provides the following benefits.

  • Assistance changing your network name and/or passphrase.
  • Ability to troubleshoot devices with poor connections.
  • No hassle devices replacement

Wireless Internet

What is Wireless Internet?
Wireless Internet is the transmission of digital communication by the use of a fixed terrestrial wireless transmitter and receiver.

How do you determine if I can receive Wireless Internet service?
One of our trained technicians will survey the requested location and find the best option for getting you service.

Are there reasons I might not be able to receive service?
Possibly. Factors that could affect your service include trees, hills, valleys or other obstacles that could hamper a strong wireless signal to your receiver, but let our trained experts determine if you can receive JCE Co-op service at your location.

What does the antenna look like?
Our standard antenna is a white circular dish 18 inches in diameter but we use several different styles of antenna to meet our connection requirements.

What is VoIP?
Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), is a method of voice communication via the Internet. VoIP is a clearer form of communication that provides a range of advanced features and functionality. JCE Co-op offers phone service for both residential and businesses purposes.

Will I be able to keep my current phone number?
Yes, however, keeping your existing number is dependent upon service market and location. If you are keeping your existing number, generally it takes 5– 10 business days to transfer your number from your current carrier.

Will taxes and other fees apply?
No, JCE Co-op understands comparing telephone providers is difficult. To simply your life, we have bundled all taxes and other fees into a single flat rate.

Will I be able to use my existing phones or is a new phone provided?
You will be able to choose between using your existing phones or a new cordless phone provided as part of your installation.

Is there a charge for long distance with the phone service?
There is no long-distance charges within the continental United States, Alaska, Hawaii and Canada. There are additional charges for international calls or calling services, such as information at 411. By default, international calling is not available.

Are phones installed at the same time as the fiber?
In efforts to best serve you, we will try to coordinate the install the fiber and phone at the same time.

Will the VoIP phone service work in case of a power outage?
VoIP phone service will not work in case of power outage without a UPS battery backup installed. This is not mandatory, but without it, access to E911 will not work when power is out.
